How to clean jewelry at home
1. Prepare a solution:
- Soap solution: a little liquid soap or shampoo in warm water - suitable for almost all jewelry.
- Baking soda paste: baking soda + a little water - for silver, but not for gold plated or stones.
- A solution with hydrogen peroxide and ammonia: suitable for gold without stones, but cannot be used for pearls, opal, coral, emerald and other porous minerals.
2. Cleaning:
Immerse the jewelry in the solution for 10-15 minutes, gently brush with a soft brush (such as a toothbrush).
3. Rinse and dry:
Rinse in clean running water and dry thoroughly with a soft, lint-free cloth (flannel or microfiber).
Tip: If your jewelry contains valuable or porous stones (pearl, turquoise, opal, amber, etc.), it's best to avoid using harsh solutions. It's safer to simply clean such items with a damp cloth or take them to a jewelry workshop.
